Over a probably short period of time not much changes will be made to the unity project for STATIC, right now the gameplay needs to be addressed to create a better experience for players. A proper design document is going to be made, this may take a little, I am also going to try and get more people on the team and using the custom git server. That’s pretty much all, but I will say one thing, this project is not likely to ever be fully canceled, this is my first big passion project and after about 7 months of development I still feel an excitement for the project and seeing it move forward.

STATIC: Crafting a New MythOS Story
Hello, I’m mindlight (Desmond), the lead of the STATIC project. Since July 2024, I’ve been creating a BONELAB campaign mod with a refined narrative, aiming to elevate storytelling in the modding scene. Instead of the usual “spooky atmosphere, throw in enemies, done” formula, I want players to experience a deeper, character-driven conflict. While silent protagonists like Arthur Ford work well, I’m exploring more dynamic character development for a fresh approach.
STATIC will feature five main locations across three acts, released sequentially. Act One includes the opening and the industrial sector, offering about 20–40 minutes of gameplay to gather player feedback. Current characters include Stetson (the main character), Tony (a guide akin to Russell from HLA), environmental story elements, and others.
Gameplay wise I decided to go for a mix of puzzles that integrate seamlessly into the environment and combat arenas built into the location. I only want some key based puzzles, which will be used quite a bit but I will be sure to include unique and interesting gameplay mechanics.
